Finding Time for Mothers

Hello everyone, I thought I’d share something about what I’ve learned over the past 2 years or so since beginning my daily meditation practice from a mothers perspective.

For those of you with kids, I truly understand the difficulties you can face with not only finding time to dedicate to meditation and relaxation, but also dealing with the associated feelings of guilt you may experience for taking time away from your family just to spend on yourself.

I have 3 young children, and when I began meditating my youngest was only 6 months old. This is what I found helped me with my feelings of guilt:

  • I recognise how much energy and time I put into caring for others and that I deserve to spend energy on caring for myself too.

  • Not only that, in taking time for myself through meditation, I am allowing and gently supporting the changing emotions and needs of myself and that has a ripple effect through to everyone in my life.

  • The more I care for myself, the more well equiped I am to care for others.

  • You are doing yourself and everyone in your life a great kindness by practicing meditation and putting energy into self-love and self-care.

  • You are doing it just as much for your loved ones as you are for yourself.

I hope the mothers/parents have found this helpful.

Love and light to you all xx
